Check out our fantastic competition. You can win two tickets to see The Memoirs of a Showgirl at Slide in Sydney.
How to enter
Just visit our Facebook page and tell us what would be your showgirl name if you were a cancan dancer at the Moulin Rouge! And post it on our Facebook page.
Tip: A good way of coming up with a cancan dancer name is to take the name of your first pet and combine it with your first street name, then stick a ‘le’ or ‘la’ in the middle.
Some examples: Bunny Le Broadway, Or Fluffy La Flanders
We’ll choose our favourite answer on Monday 30th April.
What’s the show about?
Aussie showgirl Shay Stafford will bring a little bit of the Champs Elysées to Oxford Street when she pulls back the curtain on the world’s most famous cabarets: the Moulin Rouge and the Lido.
This is an unashamedly camp pastiche of song, dance, feathers and sequins. Stafford – author of the best-selling ‘Memoirs Of A Showgirl’ and former principal dancer at the Moulin Rouge and the Lido de Paris – will offer up a never-before-seen glimpse of life behind the scenes of Paris cabaret.
The former Brizzie girl and 12-year veteran of the Paris stage will share the spotlight with her showgirl dance troupe, the Can Canettes, and showcase live performances from French balladeers.
